Obtaining school credits from your Heritage Language learning

Depending on the resources of your school board, you can learn your Heritage Language as a World Language in your school. What are the formal requirements to request the teaching of a specific language to the School Board? Also the BC Ministry of Education recognizes the completion of community Heritage Languages programs. Where is the data about students that gain credits from their participation in Heritage Language schools? Is it possible to advocate for the evaluation of students that do not attend to a community language school but, through their participation in our Heritage Languages learning activities, gain satisfactory levels of proficiency?
